Leeds Met Online Seach Interface

If you have used the search interface please add your comments below.  Did you find it easy to use? Did the browse function provide you with relevant categories? If not what types of categories would you expect to find given a repository for research outputs?

We also intend to add an advance metadata-based search, would you find this useful?

You can also embed a ‘portable’ search box in any HTML based web page to search the repository from anywhere on the web.  To do so cut and paste the following code:

<form action=”http://repository.leedsmet.ac.uk/main//search.php” id=”LXPortableSearch”><p><a name=”LXPortableSearch”></a><input style=”line-height: 10px; padding: 2px 1px 2px 1px; border:1px solid #3a72b9;” size=”25″ title=”The Repository Open Search” name=”q” />&nbsp;<input style=”line-height: 15px; font-weight: bold; padding: 1px 2px 1px 2px; border:1px solid #3a72b9; background: #3a72b9; color: #3a72b9; cursor: pointer; background: #3a72b9 url(http://repository.leedsmet.ac.uk/main//img/buttonbg2.gif);” type=”submit” value=”Search” /></p></form><script type=”text/javascript” src=”http://repository.leedsmet.ac.uk/main//js/portablesearch-1.0.php” charset=”utf-8″></script>

Many applications such as x-Stream, Face book and iGoogle allow applications to be embedded into their interfaces via widgets. Would a repository search widget be useful to you? Where would you want a widget to be added?

Your comments will inform the further development of this tool.
